In addition to the tombstones, doormat, and hatchet, we had to make costumes!!! I finished Rachel's towards the beginning of the month.
I LOVE how it turned out!
Michael helped out as a cast member at Lea and Shayne's haunted garage. Rachel was going to help out too, but she kind of chickened out at the last minute. It was for the best. We took advantage of their sweet photo cutouts before hitting up the haunted garage.
We toured it with Nana, and it was a good thing because it took the two of us to drag Gabe and Rachel through it!
We found a night to carve pumpkins a day or two before the big night.
We grew that green pumpkin this year. We'll have to get it started earlier next year so that it has time to turn orange before Halloween!
It was SUPER windy the night we carved them, so we had to light them on the back deck so they could actually light!
For some crazy reason, I signed up to be Rachel's class Party mom, so I had to come up with activities for the Halloween party. We decided to try slime, and I had to see if it was simple enough that Gabe could do it. It was.
Halloween was on a Sunday, so the Halloween stuff at school happened on Friday, Oct 29. Here are my hitchhiking ghosts, all ready for school. (And Michael made his costume, and I only had to make a suit jacket we got from DI fit Gabe and then fabric paint it to look ghostly. So easy!)
Michael hopped on his scooter, and it was really really funny.
Our next door neighbors invited us to a Halloween party right before we sent out invitations for ours, so we opted to not throw a party. So, Friday night, Brian and I also dressed up to go to the Halloween party our neighbors threw.
Our neighborhood, for the most part, did trick-or-treating on Saturday. Before heading out, we took lots of pictures. Here's the Saville version of the Haunted Mansion:

Of course, we all had a little too much fun doing all this.
After pictures, it was time for Trick-or-treating.
Michael opted to not trick-or-treat as his hitch-hiking ghost self, so after pictures, he changed clothes and went as Mr. Bubbles or something with this group of friends.
It was another fantastic Halloween.
The next day, Halloween, we had friends over for dinner, and we had every intention of playing Halloween Games together, but we had too much fun talking and playing to actually get to them. We did leave some candy and a note for anyone who decided to trick-or-treat on Sunday.
