A typical day in October usually involved a cute note like this one Rachel wrote to the tooth fairy. Between Rachel and Gabe, there is usually a sweet little handwritten something on our countertop.
Saturdays in October meant soccer, and we had to laugh that Gabe, Michael, AND Danny all had the number seven this year!
There was always something around the house that needed to be taken care of. In October, this meant our stove needed to be cleaned after a little too much cooking oil overflowed onto it.
Of course, with school in full swing, there were daily projects, most of which happened at school. We are still missing Grandpa, and that hole showed up i some of the projects.
We hung with friends, and we're so blessed to have so many so close to us!
Gracie continued to be the house celebrity. She is most distracting during scripture study, prayer time, and any other time we really need the kids to listen.
Two nights a week, Rachel was at dance from 4:15 to 7:30 or 7:45, which meant she only had time to eat a substantial snack after school and change into her dance clothes before heading to dance, and she only had time to eat dinner before it was time for bed. She handled it like a champ though. She remains our favorite daughter.
While it isn't an everyday occurrence, we often see deer while we're driving around the neighborhood.
We never get over the views from our house. We struggle to close our blinds at night because we aren't ready to stop looking out all the windows.
Despite having a craft room, the counter is the favorite spot for coloring and working on paper crafts, at least for Rachel and Gabe. This spot right here usually is covered with papers and crayons.
On warmer days, Michael rode his scooter to school.
After coming home from kindergarten, Gabe was always really good about jumping onto Alexa and iReady math on the computer. Then, he'd do chores and head out to play with friends or watch something on a screen.
Gracie, meanwhile, continues to be the lazy dog we all know and love.
We were able to go to the temple again, and it was so nice!
One day in October, Papa came over and played soccer in the front yard with the boys.
Obviously Papa won, even though the boys tried to count really ridiculous things as goals.
Michael rode his scooter to church as well. We're so glad he loved that scooter.
But the biggest things that happened (well the things that consumed most of our time) in October involved Halloween, and much of our free time (if not all of it), involved working on our preparations.
