September 2021 Part 5: Everyday

September brought us steady school schedules, dance schedules, tumbling schedules, and soccer schedules. 

In September, Brian and I started going to a kickboxing gym. It started with a punch card at the beginning of the month, and by the end of September, we were ready to commit to an actual membership. I'd been wanting to try out this Kickboxing place in Highland for awhile. We talked to the owner at Highland Days, and we finally went in for our free class after Gabe started kindergarten and got a punch card to make sure we were serious about this. The funny thing is Brian was coming to support me, but he's since become even more addicted than me. 

We also had rain and rainbows (at least one) in September. 

We did laundry. I'm not the most domestic person. My house isn't always immaculate--in fact it rarely is--but I'm good at getting laundry washed and put away right away. I don't love doing laundry; I just found a system that works for me. 

Taryn and her family came for a visit. We probably went swimming, and we for sure played a game. 

There was sleeping (this may have been when Gabe was sick). 

There was baking. 

There was calculating (Convert a recipe for 10,000 chocolate chip cookies to a 10 cookie batch). 

There was teeth brushing. 

There was morning scripture study around the table, and sometimes, there was even visuals. 

There was an impromptu dance party. 

New curtain rods were installed, along with new curtains that may or may not have been sitting around the house for almost a year. 

There was dreaming (Should we replace this railing with a horizontal metal railing?)

There was validation when Behr said Devri's favorite color would be the color of the year for 2022. 

There was some riding off into the sunset. 

And there was finally a trip to the Purple Turtle!!!

There was some crafting to prepare for Grandparent's Day. 

And there were days where it was incredibly hard to get out of bed. 

There were dinners that brought joy. 

Some projects finally got completed. 

There were date nights. 

There were clingy pets that couldn't even let me go to the bathroom without being nearby. 

There were movie nights! 

There was even a special event where we got to tour a replica of Moses' ancient tabernacle and learn more about all the things...including live lambs! 

We learned about different altars and the Holy of Holies. 

There was down time, 

There were busy times, 

And hopefully, most days there was scripture time. 

We soaked up some sun. 

There was a bad haircut where the groomers cut too close to Gracie's skin and made her neck bleed. It hurt her so badly that she struggled to sleep. It so sad watching our dog who generally has no problems sleeping the day away nodding off like a toddler at dinner because it hurt too much to sleep the way she normally would. We spent some time holding her like a new baby just to help her rest. 

Poor doggy! 

There was a friend's birthday party/ 

And there was a day where I got to hang out with my nieces in Salt Lake while Taryn and Elijah went to yet another doctor's appointment at Primary Children's.
