It's easy to remember the big moments in our lives, but I think that the little, everyday moments in between those big moments are really the most meaningful because that's where the actual living takes place. Here are a few of those moments from April.
We knew it wouldn't be long until Michael started making his own Mac and Cheese. Naturally Gabe (and Mom behind the camera) supervised.
There were sweet group hugs to help us remember why we do the everyday-menial things.
There was people watching, weather watching, or both.
There were lots of eating out at a restaurant nights. This one was to celebrate Michael's success at his piano recital.
There were still lots of Gabe falling asleep in the afternoons.
There was book perusing.
There was uncle swinging.
And Uncle launching
There was some modeling for Mom, who was taking an off-camera flash course.
There was some teeth losing.
(and some secret tears that this sweet girl lost her first tooth).
There was some Musical attending (Newsies at Hale Center Theater in Orem).
There was some pineapple drawing in church.
There was some peach tree trimming and peach tree displaying.
There was hair cutting
And hair-cut modeling.
There was some tracking-and fielding
including some javelin throwing
long jumping
and sprinting.
There was some drawing (Spiderman by Rachel)
and some scenery admiring.
And there was more tooth losing, this time while waiting in the ordering line at Costa Vida with Grandma and Grandpa.
There was coloring with Grandma.
And there was an emotionally thankful farewelling when Mom and Dad left our house. We'll never forget that hug by dad, who is not into hugging. He held both Brian and I tight and emotionally told us thank you for all our help on the house over the last year. It felt a little too final, so we jokingly brushed it off, saying, "Okay, who are you and what have you done with Dad?" I will be treasuring that hug for the rest of my life.
There was lots of photographing in April. (I had six sessions that month, three of which were actually paid!)
There was a little organizing (and a lot of mess-ifying)
There was conducting, singing, teaching, and testifying at our Church at Home.
There was digging and playing.
There were lots and lots of bubble making
There was washing, drying, and a whole lot of hepping (the kind of help that isn't helpful).
And of course, there was more sleeping
hugging, crying, snuggling, laughing,
and even a little bit of volunteering, thanking, and serving.
(I decorated Rachel's classroom door
that would be filled with hand-print leaves with thank you notes from all the students.)
And before we knew it, we were heading into May, starting our with some MOVING!!!!
