October 2010
A few weeks back, I discovered a bug in front of our door. It was in the late evening; Michael had already gone to bed. I decided to be brave and take care of the pest myself, in a humane way. I grabbed the broom, opened the door, and shooed the bug out. I was so proud of myself. I looked over to Brian on the couch, he was staring at me in shock. I thought it was because he recognized what a brilliant thing I had done.
"Did you really just do that?" he asked.
"Yeah, I did."
"You really just did that?"
At this point, I got confused. He seemed a little upset, and that made no sense at all.
"Really, you just did that. Devri, you don't have any pants on!"
Sure enough, he was right. Good thing it was kind of late.

Late October/Early November 2005
I had recently had a rough breakup, and I finally felt good enough to really put myself together and head out to class. I took great care in putting on my makeup and borrowed a really cute fall-colored wrap-around skirt from my roommate. I wore cute little high-heeled sandals. I looked in the mirror, and for the first time in weeks, I felt like I looked really, really good. So, I grabbed my backpack and started walking to class.

So there I was, prancing down University Avenue, one of the busiest streets in Provo, knowing that I looked so good. I felt great! And then I felt my skirt slip down to my ankles.  Thankfully, I was wearing a slip. No one ever pulled a skirt up so fast! I double knotted the tie after that and laughed at myself the whole rest of the day.
