April Part 2: Piano Recital and Piano Festival

April was a busy month for piano! We started off with Michael's Piano Recital.
This time, we came prepared with things to entertain Gabe.
Nana and Papa helped.
Here's Michael with his teacher, Ashlee. He's really been doing well with her.
A week or so later, it was time for piano festival, which just so happened to be at the same place that Michael had his recital.
This was also Rachel's first piano festival. She was pretty nervous, but how can you not love this little person at the piano, especially when her feet don't even reach the floor?

They both did so well, and I was so proud of them.

I have to judge at the piano festival (not my own kids, mind you), and it's cool--and very intimidating--to judge all these amazing students. I dread it every year, where our my hand frantically writing notes, and wish the whole time that I could just sit back and watch them all. These kids always inspire me, and so it is always worth the slight anxiety it gives me to step into a judging role.
