We love Halloween, and we probably try to do too much with it, but we love it all so it's okay. We carved time out the night before Halloween to make our Halloween sugar cookies and carve pumpkins. Brian is partly dressed up here as Gomez, complete with tinted hair and mustache, and I can't figure out why. Must have been for work.
There was one year Michael wouldn't carve pumpkins. Since then, I don't take it for granted that he carves with us.
Last year, Michael brought in his tools to carve, and this year, he did it again.
While they were carving, I made frosting for the cookies.
We had decorating and carving happening simultaneously, but this is why we have our giant kitchen island!
Michael's pumpkin was inspired by Two-face. I think it turned out really cool.
Rachel made the Cheshire Cat.
Gabe wanted Stitch. Brian and I helped him with his.
Michael ran to the store to get us more black frosting gel, and it's so nice to have another driver!
This is me making Michael model eating the cookie. He's so happy about it!
Rachel was the last one to finish her pumpkin. Unfortunately, the wind was blowing from the north, so we were unable to light them.
The cookies were so good, and we mostly had fun decorating them.
I love seeing the creativity that comes out with these activities. So glad we figured out how to make it happen again!
