August Part 3: Jeff and Ruth Come for a Visit

Brian's roommate from college finally finished all of his professional training (which included an MD/PHD program at Duke, residency, and fellowship) and started his career earlier this year, which meant that he was finally able to take a vacation out to Utah (I can't remember the last time he visited Utah--maybe not long after they had their first baby, over a decade ago). They came out mostly to see Jeff's family, but Jeff and Ruth carved out time to come see us (which we appreciate SO much because we know how hard it can be!) We got to meet most of their kids, and we enjoyed having them in our house. 

We ate lunch together and then took them to the Butterfly Biosphere (amazingly Adobe had a pass available last minute). 

We all got to enjoy butterflies landing on us. 

We watched some butterflies hatch. 

I even had one land on my shoe. 

All the Ashtons plus most of the Savilles (I think Rachel had a birthday party and Michael was doing whatever Michaels do on August days after spending the entire month of June away from home, which is quite taxing for a home body).
