Potty Training for the Final Time (January 2019)

Last time, on Savillians....
Mom: So Gabe's been changing his own  diapers in the morning to get dressed. I had to leave to catch this flight before I could clean up his #2 in the diaper mess. Welcome home from your cruise! Gotta Jet!

And so we entered our final time potty training a child. Out came the training undies, away went the diapers (well, actually he'd been wearing pull-ups for the past several months because the fit him better, but you know, same thing.)

He didn't seem to mind wearing Rachel's old training undies too...
Gabe was motivated by being on the toilet. He was pretty easy, but it did take some extra diligence, especially in the mornings. We used plastic pants over the training undies at night until he consistently woke up dry, but I also listened in my sleep for when he'd wake up to rush him into the bathroom. I didn't get much sleep during these potty training days, and as a result, I ended up getting pneumonia. More on that in another post.

Finally, by the end of January, we confidently threw out our diaper bin!
And gave away the rest of his diapers.
Good job, Gabe, and good job Brian and I! We did it!!!!
