Though we didn't have too many major projects in June, we did have a few that were worth a mention. Thanks to two sets of house guests booking their stays at Hotel Saville, we got that push we needed to hang up some things in our kids' craft room/guest room. Brian hung the chalkboards that used to be in my craft room in the old house.
We found a better towel hook for the basement bathroom. The one that hung over the door was tearing up the door, so we fired it.
And, since we got it all ready for guests, Brian made sure to take pictures. Usually, it looks like a how you would expect a kids' craft room to look.
We had been enjoying our theater room for a month before we figured out what to do about the back speakers. I was tired of them being on the wet bar counter, and Brian wanted to perfect his sound, so we put our heads together and tried to figure out how we were going to make our bar that the speakers were supposed to sit on. The problem was that they needed to be REALLY high. I searched all over Etsy and the internet for ideas, and, long story short, commissioned a guy to make some really tall table legs for us. They arrived in June, and we were incredibly pleased with how they turned out.

Brian got to work making the very long and skinny bar top, using 2x somethings, just like we did our living room counter tops. (We recognize that other wood would be much more durable, but this wood was inexpensive and matched our rustic vibe that we have going throughout the house.)
I helped him run the boards through the joiner, but mostly, Brian tackled this one on his own. In the middle of this, he also made a new drawer front for a desk we got for Michael off the KSL Classifieds.
As you can see here, the drawer front got a chunk knocked out of it.
The new drawer front turned out perfect.
