"Suuummmertiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiime, and the liviiiiiiiiiiiiins easyyy!" I couldn't help but think of that song as I looked at some of these pictures. Gracie surely was feeling that.
We all like reading a good book during the summer.
Wrestling? Absolutely.
But don't worry, we also put in plenty of work during the month of July, diligently fulfilling our various responsibilities.
But we also took time to play.
The boys got their equipment for football, and boy were they excited!
I continued serving in Young Women's. Here's the first ever Glow-ga night. (Blacklight Yoga).
I loved watching Micheal and Gabe play football in the backyard.
This poor book saw a little too much love over the year, so I used some wood glue and clamps to try to put it back together for the next time someone reads it.
We got to see deer around the neighborhood.
And we did plenty of soaking up the sun
My neighbor had a baby, and Gabe and I got to hold her. Newborn babies are so precious!
Brian and I got to go to the Tabernacle Choir's Summer Concert, featuring Adassa, who plays the voice of Doloresm from
Encanto. It was a fun concert and showcased a lot of the songs from the Choir's tour to Mexico back in June.
We naturally spent time in the garage in our constant quest to keep improving and organizing it, especially Brian's shop area. He wasn't sure how to hang the shop vac hose, so I suggested using two big hooks and setting wrapping the hose around them like you would with a vacuum cord. He liked my suggestion and implemented it.
Like I said before, we all enjoy reading a good book, especially during the summer.
And even though it is hot in July, we still like snuggling up in blankets in our cool, air conditioned house.
I read this article about how you know if your dog trusts you, and I had to share this list with Brian. Apparently, Gracie really trusts him and that's why she's always stealing his gloves.
We stayed cool, thanks to air conditioning and ice cream.
And shade on our deck.
We also enjoyed spending time at the pool. Doesn't this picture just sum up summer goals?
This year, we hired a company to help with the weeds in our yard. We set aside money to pay for it back in April because we weren't sure what kind of energy I'd have post ablation. They mostly did good until this day where I heard them using power tools and ran out to investigate. They had started taking a hedge trimmer to all my bushes, making them look much more formal than I wanted, and I was so angry about it. I stopped them before they could do it to the entire yard, and I'm still sad that they look so butchered. Trimming like this is such a stylistic choice, and I was so shocked that they wouldn't check that this kind of thing was okay with us. I had to stop them one or two other times after this as well. But, it was nice not having to worry about weeds all summer.
I tried doing a rag roll thing with some old leggings. It sort of worked.
Gracie still remained the favorite living thing in the house.
Brian and I decided to paint our lockers before putting them together, so we both spent some time out rolling paint in the garage.
We knew a new Haunted Mansion movie was coming out, but we were surprised to discover it was opening in theaters in July instead of August, so we got tickets and went on opening day. It was SO fun. It was a lovely love letter to the ride and the fans, and we loved how many Easter eggs they put into the movie.
Rachel, Gabe, and I went to go see Rylie, our neighbor, in Hale Center Theater's
Finding Nemo, jr. production. It was really fun, and Gabe became obsessed with the music for a few weeks after we saw it.
We ended the month with another relaxing, summer Sunday,
And a train ride to celebrate Harry Potter's birthday.
