Besides lockers, choreography, football practices, games, and heading back to school, here's what else happened.
We got a really good rainstorm that this picture doesn't do justice to.
We took Rachel to see the Barbie Movie, and posed in the Barbie box for fun beforehand.
It was much different that I expected. I laughed, I cried, and I left with much to think about. This movie felt like a love letter to women, basically saying, "You're doing just fine, girl," which I appreciated.
Gracie switched some things up and looked out the family room window for a bit.
And we caught her stashing a bag of treats under our bed.
We celebrated Dad's birthday with donuts from Lehi Bakery. Gabe admitted to not remembering anything about him, and Rachel admitted that her memories are getting fuzzy. So, we shared some stories. We laughed and we cried. I'll always be grateful for his life and how much he tried to give me and my siblings a much better life than the one he had growing up.
We tried soaking up the last days that the pool would be available, and we got Kristina to bring her kids over for a pool day. She got all the kids to do fun jumps into the pool.
And all these kids were disappointed when she moved on. We had a great time chatting with her by the pool while her youngest slept.
She brought really good snacks, and we vowed to be better with snacks next summer.
We have moments like this one with Gracie almost daily.
When Michael had his turn for picking our weekly family activity, he picked basketball, and at one point, Gracie got outside. We laughed that she was scared of the ball, and followed me wherever I went on our little court. If I moved, she moved, and I had to be careful not to step on her or let the ball hit her.
We all love Gracie, even if she's not sure about us most of the time.
In preparation for school starting, we did haircuts. Michael wanted to keep his hair longer, so I tried figuring out how to keep it looking nice-ish.
We had a few lazy days.
Brian and I observed date night weekly. We tried out the Crack Shack for the first time, and Brian was hooked. We thought the decor was particularly funny.
Michael made a hammer.
I had lunch with my friends, Scooby and Jen.
We sold our bed frame on KSL and donated our blue pushback recliners to D.I.
I decided to take a couple of classes at UVU. It was originally in order to prepare for grad school, but after making it through the semester, I'm not as sure about what to do educationally wise. I took an architectural studio class and an AutoCad class. I had to upload a picture for my student ID, and this is it.
Gracie kept watch over our house.
Michael lost $10, and I found his $10.
Ralph the Night Hair Dresser continued doing good work on my hair.
I finally hung up the clock in the kids bathroom. I bought the clock months before this point.
We went to see Romeo and Juliet with Serene and Dustin.
The production was really good, and I must say that seeing this play with adult eyes, those two kids were quite ridiculous.
There was...I don't know what this is, and I'm not sure I want to know.
We got a new bed frame and nicer push-back recliners.
We read a lot.
Mostly, we couldn't believe that another school year was upon us and that our kids keep growing and growing. Remember when we thought we'd never stop changing diapers?! Our sweet kids are growing into some really sweet, wonderful people.
