The Sunday after my birthday, Michael got it into his head that he wanted to make donuts. Thankfully, Brian stepped in to help out. It was a whole thing! I did point them in the direction of a recipe, but that was the extent of my help.
They looked a little funky, but they were really good.
I got my first tomatoes from the garden at the beginning of July. These tomatoes were named "4th of July" because they would grow in time to be mature by that date, and they delivered. They were just really tiny!.
We also got more raspberries than ever before, but they were also tiny. They were such a treat though!
Speaking of treats, we made Muddy Buddies as well, and since I'm working on a family cookbook with pictures, I took a few pictures of the kids eating them, hoping to get a good enough shot to use. The trick now will be deciding which of these models to use.
Gabe and Rachel enjoyed this treat while playing Battleship: The Pirates of the Caribbean version.
Cal and Cassidy came through and stayed over one night on their way to California, and I made biscuits and gravy and served my tiny raspberries as well. Cal was pretty excited as he loves biscuits and gravy.
While they were there, we had to see how Michael measured up height wise. He's got Cassidy beat, but he's still got a bit to go to pass me.
I'm so grateful for my little garden, for raspberries in general, and for these little bakers that I'm raising.
