In April 2017, we were driving to San Diego from Anaheim, listening to General Conference when President Monson announced that Saratoga Springs would be getting a temple. We were so excited! Fast forward six years, and the temple was almost finished! Even though we had moved away from Saratoga, we knew we had to go back for the open house, which we did in May. Nana and Papa came with us. Thankfully, there were golf carts helping people get from their cars to where the tour started as I was still recovering from surgery.
We loved seeing this temple and how many nods there are to the city. The main motifs were cranes and the tall grasses. The crane is used on the City's logo, and the lake is surrounded by tall grasses. It was so beautiful!
I really love the temple. I loved that from my window one day, not too long after visiting the open house, I saw a rainbow that seemed to end right at the Mt Timpanogos Temple, which is right since the blessings of the temple are worth more than any pot of gold.
I'm so grateful for the temple, and so grateful that we have so many near us.
