Mothers' Day was the second Sunday in May, just like it is every year, and Brian and the kids really delivered in taking care of me. The kids were all adamant that I didn't do any work! They started the morning off by bringing me breakfast.
Brian surprised me with the most amazing present! It's a wearable sleeping bag! A mom at one of the football games this spring walked by wearing one, and I had to stop her and ask her what it was. It was a freezing cold spring with lots of rain and wind and miserableness. Well, Brian paid attention to that and got me one! It's reversible, can be worn as an actual sleeping bag, or the bottom can be brought up and cinched around the waist so you can easily walk in it. I love it so much!
After church, we got the mail
and spent some time out on our lower patio, where we sat around laughing together having a joke-telling fest. Rachel came up with some pretty clever punny jokes, and Brian and I shared lots of our favorites with the kids. It was such a lovely way to spend an hour or two.
Brian and the kids made two Hello Fresh meals (since they both needed to be eaten) and nobody let me help.
And I even got dessert. I can't remember what it is, but I am pretty sure it was delicious.
I sure love this little family of mine. I'm so grateful to have them, to be living my dreams with them in our house here. I feel so incredibly blessed, and I am incredibly grateful.
