Maybe I should have done this post first, because we're taking it all the way back to the beginning of the month to fill you in on all the things that weren't big enough to take up their own post.
First thing, we put all of our headstones in the attic of our shed,
as well as the coffin. For some reason, these things lined up in a row up there makes us laugh.
Our Christmas "elves" showed up soon after to hang our Christmas lights. Don't worry, we didn't turn them on much before Thanksgiving.
I'm not sure what happened here, but at some point, Gabe decided his hands needed to be a different color.
Brian and I voted...by mail...at the last possible second.
There were hugs exchanged.
My girlfriends FINALLY met up for dessert. It had been A WHILE!
I accidentally washed my wallet.
The boys got haircuts. And Rachel turned cartwheels while they did that.
I think Brian installed this outlet. It may not have happened in November, but it might have, because why else would Brian take a picture of this? We also installed some outdoor cameras. Not sure if it was in November, but again, here's the new plug, so I'm guessing that's what happened. It probably doesn't really matter.
We played with friends.
We tried to organize more things.
We did hair...poorly and less poorly.
(Why did I take a picture of this and from two different angles?)
Gracie continues to enjoy playing with her toys, especially at night about the time the kids go to bed. Maybe she senses the freedom that comes when they go to sleep as well?
I had a bad day, and the kids heart attacked my door. Bless them. (Even though they definitely contributed to the bad day, possibly being the catalysts for it.)
Gracie loves hanging out in the kids' rooms when they're not in there.
Our neighbors dogs busted through the fence. This was Brian's temporary solution until we could get it fixed.
We had beautiful sunsets.
We had sweet moments in restaurants.
We had Sunday baking days.
And Sunday games.
Followed by Sunday reading.
And Sunday...who knows.
We started a new tradition...a thankful tree. I got a skinny tree and blank ornaments. Everyday, after scripture study, we each wrote something we were grateful for with a paint pen on the blank ornaments.
It was in our front entry so we had the reminder everyday to be grateful. Then, we kept it up all through December.
We threw our first Friendsgiving in our new house.
Serene called me up one night and said she was headed to the Outlets and asked if I wanted to join her. I needed a new winter coat, so I said, Yup. We ended up buying matching coats.
Brian wished he had one too.
I'm not sure what's happening in this one, but it is proof that my kids can sometimes stand near each other and NOT fight.
We got blackout curtains up in Michael's room (and by we, I mean Brian. I bought the curtains and the rod, but he installed them.)
I made a beautiful loaf of sourdough bread, thanks to starter that Serene gave me.
Maybe Brian installed the PVC pipe in the concrete in front of our gate. I feel like this happened way before November, but why would he take a picture? We can all just happily note that this is what our RV gate looked like in November.
We hit up the Dollar Store to pick up supplies for that Christmas Tree project mentioned in the last post, and decided to get our neighbor gift supplies as well since they actually had decent Christmas wrapping paper and a good price on tape. When we pulled up to the check-out stand, the cashier snarkily asked, "Is there any left?" Yup, we left the ugly stuff. We're not monsters.
Gabe caught the Christmas spirit early, and made this cute card for Rixton, our next door neighbor.
