December 2021 Part 3: Snow. SNow. SNOw. SNOW. SNOW!!!!!

 A few days after our deck cover got its shingles installed, the first snowfall hit. After having one winter here, we decided that the snowblower we got last year wasn't going to cut it. So, we posted it for sale, 

and got a bigger one. 

Good thing too. We really put it to work after the big snowstorms we got. 

Oh the excitement when the snow first starts to fall. December snowstorms are the best. 

One day, the kids all went sledding. Before the headed to the park with the good hill, I wanted to get a picture. Can you tell where this one is going to go?

If you guessed Michael's little funny picture would end in tears, you were right. 

After consoling Gabe, we got a better one. 

I told them to call me when they had had enough, and this is the scene I found when I arrived at the park. 

Meanwhile, Gracie and I were like:

I mean, who can blame us? Remember that cover that was supposed to keep our deck from getting all snowy? Yeah, it always snows sideways so that didn't work, but it did help.

We got SO much snow in December. Do you see that figure out at the end of the driveway? 

How about now?

Do you see how deep it got in our backyard. Poor Gracie! I'm glad outhouses are no longer a thing!

And since the wind is always blowing, this window, my bedroom window, was completely iced/snowed over. This is after it melted a little bit. 

I was really proud of Michael when he headed out to dig out our neighbor's sidewalk. She's a single woman in her 80s, and her house always gets drifted over with the snow. 

We are so grateful for our warm home that keeps us sheltered from the storm. We're grateful for our snow blower, ice melt, and snow shovels. We're grateful for warm coats and dry boots, as well as gloves and hats.
