And now for everything else.
We all like to imagine that Gracie lives a secret life of playing video games.
I tried to watch Fiddler on the Roof again. I haven't been able to watch it since my dad died, and I thought, "It's been almost 7 years; I'm probably okay." I made it to "If I Were a Rich Man" before sobbing, so that's progress. When I went to the play 7 months after he passed, I sobbed through the entire thing. I did my first embroidery project: a shirt for Gabe. He loves it!
I got two free classes with my sewing machine. The first was to teach me how to take care of it and how to use different feet and stitches. I learned a ton! The only issue with the classes was that my machine no longer fits in my sewing machine bag, so I had to bust out our wagon to get it into the store for my class.
Our stake had our last ward conference in March, sand we remembered to get a picture of us. We loved teaching the children to have faith like Moses, and we loved when some of them remembered us from last year. Now I need to figure out what to do with my brass serpent. (Left to right is Jill Simmons, Heather Arnett, Armi Gorrell, and me).
Gracie continued to amuse us with her resting positions.
Brian and Gabe went to Kirt's Utah Premier Brass concert where they performed Peter and the Wolf.
Tyler and Jenny came to town for a skiing trip, and Michael drove up to the ski hill to hang out with Tyler.
One of Gabe's classmates invited everyone over for a skating party. During the winter, this family turns one of their sheds into an ice rink!
I got my hair done, as I do every 6 weeks. "With all this foil in my hair, I'm getting HBO."
Our winter, if you recall, was incredibly mild. Our trees started budding and blooming an entire month early, and we busted out the hammock early too.
Brian had a nerve block procedure to see if it helps his hand and wrist feel better.
Rachel had an orchestra festival. We're constantly amazed at how much these kids have improved and learned since the beginning of the year. Their teacher is incredible. Lea says that she's probably the best teacher in the district.
I set a goal to paint something everyday. I made it about 3 days, but here's one of my paintings.
Brian and I went to see the play, Fiddler on the Roof, and I didn't cry at all.
A couple of our kids were hanging out in the pantry. Nobody knows why. So, naturally, we all had to join them.
We tried 3d printing a Rubix cube. It didn't really work.
Sweet Gracie.
Here's another one of my drawing a day paintings.
A magpie started stealing pieces from our planter, presumably to build a nest. It was fun watching her come and grab more pieces, disappear, and come back for more.
On one of my walks, I found this chalk drawing. I loved the reminder.
Here's my formal dress from high school. I actually designed it, and my mom made it for me. You can't tell from the picture, but the skirt is a mermaid skirt.
Later in the evening, I asked Brian to take a picture of Rachel and I in our dresses, which led to us dancing around and led to even more pictures than I'm sharing here.
Rachel and Gabe took my kite to the park to try to fly it.
We said goodbye to our old table
because our new one finally arrived.
It took a couple of days to get used to the changes, but we love it! The top is so smooth; it never occurred to me that a dining table top wouldn't be smooth, but our last one wasn't. It matches our chairs and hutch really well, and we're very happy. Happy 17th anniversary to us!
