September 2022 Part 3: World of Dance and the Sunflower Festival

In mid-September, Serene and I took Rachel and Elsie to World of Dance at BYU. We got seats super close to the stage. This would be the last World of Dance in the DeJong Concert Hall of the Harris Fine Arts Center because the new Music Building was set to open by January 2023! The performances were amazing! We got to see BYU Theater Ballet, Living Legends, International Folk Dance Ensemble, Ballroom Dance Company, Contemporary Dance Theater, and the Young Ambassadors. It has been years since I attended World of Dance, and it was the first time for the rest of our group. We absolutely loved it! 

We even got a picture with one of the ballerinas! 

And Rachel and Elsie begged for a picture on this deer sculpture near the Museum of Art. 

Brian and Gabe picked us in Orem after the concert (we had hitched a ride with Serene down to Provo), and then we headed to Spanish Fork to go to the Sunflower Festival at Cornbelly's down there. Michael didn't want to come, so we left him home. We got season tickets to Cornbelly's this year, which got us into both locations, as well as the Sunflower Festival. We thought season tickets would make it easier to enjoy Cornbelly's and let my heart recover from surgery, and it was definitely the smart move! 

It was a beautiful day! 

Rachel and Gabe had a lot of fun playing on whatever this swingy/tilty thing is called. 

Our season tickets came with punch cards for activities and treats, so Gabe and Rachel decided to use it on some of the rides. 

The Corncob pit is always a favorite. 

And the lighting was incredible! I think Rachel had company dance pictures earlier that day, so she still had make-up on from that. I wished that I had brought my nicer camera! The setting was perfect and Rachel was camera ready! 

We got to see the handsome fellow (the owl). 

And a few fairies. 

These giant sunflowers were amazing. It was so beautiful walking through them. 

We may have gotten a little carried away with pictures. 

Finally, with the sun going down, it was time to head home and go to bed.
