October 2020 Part 5: Halloween

The Game of Halloween: 2020 Edition

Instructions

Objective: Determine a family theme that everyone can agree upon and be excited about. Once theme is decided on, create epic costumes!

First turn: Play the board game Clue and hit upon inspiration! Share with family and seek approval. If approval is granted, move onto next turn. If unsuccessful, repeat first turn.

Second and subsequent turns: Acquire fabric and accessories. Work on costume creation until completed.

If possible, recruit a friend to join in the fun.

Bonus: Decorate your house with unrelated cobwebs and pipe-cleaner spiders.

Keep in mind, it's all in the details. Fine tuning the general theme to something specific like Clue characters in the 40s enhances the entire experience. Be creative in your resources. Don't be afraid to use a lamp base for a candlestick.

If you happen to get Covid during the course of the game, keep on going. This game isn't for the faint of heart, after all. Make Halloween sugar cookies to boost morale.

Congratulations! You've finished the costumes. Now, enjoy welcome gifts from neighbors to make up for getting Covid and losing trick-or-treating and parties.

Once you have assembled your costumes, participate in a Halloween egg and candy hunt in the yard, also provided by neighbors.

Whenever possible, show off the costumes

But from at least 6 feet from non players.

Take pictures to showcase how well you executed your costume curation. Determine who killed Mr. Body in which room with which weapon. For example, was it Professor Plum in the library with the wrench?

That's how it could have happened, but maybe it was Mrs. Peacock in the lounge with the lead pipe.

Or perhaps Miss Scarlet in the dining room with the candlestick?

Or maybe it was Colonel Mustard in the Conservatory with the revolver?

That's how it could have happened. But maybe it was Mr. Green in the kitchen with the knife?

What actually happened: Mrs. White in the hall with the rope.

Final Turn: Make a scary fun treat

Don't forget to post a scary sign to keep the ghouls and goblins away:

To end the game: Watch a Halloween Movie and go to bed!
