Mother's Day

I woke up on Mother's Day to this:
And it was one of the best things ever. Rachel made her hand flower in preschool, and Michael had found a thing in The Friend magazine that showed him how to make paper flowers, and he showed it to Brian, asking to make it for me. The day before, while I was getting pedicures and having a girls' day, they were home making these flowers. They couldn't wait to bring them to me.
And Michael brought me my favorite morning breakfast, cold cereal, in bed. (I LOVE real breakfast foods, like pancakes, waffles, French toast, hashbrowns, eggs, sausage. My mom made us a hot breakfast every day growing up. But, since being on my own, I really just prefer a bowl of cereal in the morning and then I have the traditional breakfast foods for dinner, so the kids really nailed it!)
Rachel's primary teachers are the best! They helped her make this really sweet flower. I love her answers!
In case you can't read it, Rachel filled in the answers to the bolded statements:
My Mom is good at: making cookies (really funny because I'm not the cookie maker around here. Brian is. Unless it's sugar cookies, then it's me, but that doesn't happen very often).
My favorite thing to do with my mom is: Dance Party
My Mom makes the best: Presents
My Mom loves me because: loves me
My Mom teaches me: to be kind
My mom is as beautiful as: My brother Michael

I sure love being a mom to this crew, and even more than that, I'm grateful to all the "moms" who have influenced my life, nurturing and loving me and my children. This includes my young women leaders, my roommates, the amazing ladies in my wards (past and present) and neighborhood, my friends, my kids' babysitters, my aunts, my sisters-in-law, my sisters, my grandma, my amazing mother-in-law Julie, and of course, my amazing mother. Where would I be without the influence of all these righteous women? I shudder to even picture it.
