Volleyball, Man

My mom LOVES volleyball. That may even be an understatement. So, when she gets a chance, she likes to come down to watch BYU volleyball, because they're usually pretty good. They decided to come down for a game on February 28th, which was the day after we got home from our trip. It was awesome to see them, and even more fun to go on a double date with them to the volleyball game. Bonus: BYU won. Double Bonus: We had BYU Creamery ice cream afterwards.

But I have my suspicions that this particular volleyball trip was really just an excuse from my dad to bring me this:

My cedar chest. It is made of cherry wood, my favorite, but with a darker redish stain. And it is lined with cedar, and smells HEAVENLY! Until we finish our basement, its temporary home is behind our loveseat upstairs. I love the simplicity of it, and my dad nailed the legs on this one. I'm a difficult one to make stuff for because I am very particular. Back in July, I went with my dad to pick the stain. He's been working on it for a long time, and it is finally done. And it is currently filled with beautiful quilts from my mother-in-law. I feel so loved when I look at it and when I open it. Thanks, Dad, for my beautiful chest! I love it!
