We gifted Michael BYU men's basketball tickets. Unfortunately, by the time we came up with that idea, the only seats available were up in the nosebleeds. Still. The big game finally arrived the last weekend of February. He got to bring one friend with him, and he chose Danny. We got the boys a cougar tail to share, and we got one to share as well.
The boys were loving the game, despite being so high up. At half time, Brian wanted to go say hi to Bro. Mack, the director of the pep band and marching band at BYU. It had been a few years since we saw him, and it was fun to catch up a little with him. We mentioned how weird it was to be at a game and not sitting with the band. He said, "If we had four seats available, you could totally join us." There were only three. We weren't expecting the invitation. We asked if it would be okay if Danny and Michael stayed with the band for the second half. Bro. Mack said it was okay and assured us he'd keep an eye on the boys. It was right next to the student section, and Michael spent the rest of the game living his best life. We went back to our seats and took this picture of them.
They got to see Cosmo. They got free t-shirts.
They had such a blast. They were glad they came with us to say hi...they almost didn't.
To top it all off, BYU won!
At the end of the game, we made our way back over to collect our boys. We got a picture with Brian and Bro. Mack.
And he took one of our group.
It was a really fun night. Michael must have thought this was a good Christmas present because he recently requested football tickets for his birthday and another basketball game for Christmas.
