With the main living areas finally in good shape after the move, it was finally time to focus on the bedrooms. Gabe's was in fairly decent shape, but Michael and Rachel's rooms needed so much help! We finally got Rachel's room organized.
Look at this beautiful organization! We've really been missing our playroom storage from our Fox Hollow house!
Rachel turned our Halloween candlestick prop into a vase for her fake flowers.
We got this shelf from IKEA to display my porcelain dolls in Rachel's room. Again, we've been missing that custom toy/book storage that we built in our last house!
Michael had been using one of the twins in a bunk bed set up, which was fine, except for the fact that the other bunk had been stored under his bed. We decided to pass on the bunkbed to someone who needed a bunk bed, since we really didn't anymore. There were a few days in between when we got rid of the bunk bed and when his new bed arrived, thanks to the need to make appointments to donate stuff to Deseret Industries, our favorite thrift store.
Thankfully, it wasn't too many days.
We have more plans for a desk, but this is where we got to in January.
Brian loves the Wheel of Time book series, and he has been wanting to get them all in hardback for years, but it seemed like a silly thing when he had perfectly readable copies in paperbacks. So, for Christmas, I got him his missing hardbacks. Here's his entire collection, all lined up, all in equal sized hardbacks.
In January, we also ordered our theater seating. We had them built custom so we could have the buttons in the armrests and have some chairs be more like loveseats.
We went to Argenta in Sandy to figure out which ones we wanted. We did some serious reclining.
Meanwhile, Brian did more organizing in the garage. All of our paint was still in boxes, which isn't very useful.

We finally added a piece of trim to the edge of this cabinet so that it looked more finished and intentional. I say finally because we'd purchased the piece of trim months before this!
We finally got our Murphy bed assembled and installed downstairs in our kids craft room/occasional guest room.
After several trips to IKEA, the bookcases we wanted were finally in stock and we were able to buy them! Rachel helped me put them together
We decided that the kids' bathroom needed a shelf above the toilet, so Brian used one of our extra shelves from our family room project in December to make one.
And we decided that it really needed to extend the entire way. This shelf didn't last long, but it paved the way for the better one.
We started adding more decor items.
And Brian switched out the toilet paper holders
and towel rods in throughout the house so that they weren't cheap looking chrome ones.
And he added even more organization in the garage.
We're getting closer to being completely settled in here....
