In January, Brian and I celebrated 12 years of marriage! Since our anniversary was on a Sunday, we did our special date night on Friday. We got all dressed up and went to the Charleston Draper, but before heading over the mountain, we stopped for a picture:
And before getting to our table, we took another. Gotta love the masks, right?
Dinner was so good. This is how I feel about their filet mignon:
We ordered dessert. It looked really good in person, but kind of looks plastic-esque and gross in this picture.
Not much better in this picture either. And Brian's talking to one of the kids. They're the only ones we answer our phones for when we're on a date like this, don't worry.
On Sunday, we celebrated our actual anniversary. Brian got me these beautiful flowers, and we decided to recreate some of our favorite wedding photos. The weather was so obliging to give us dead looking grass with snow patches to lend even better authenticity to our actual wedding day. (We probably should have looked at the originals before posing since we're flipped from the originals. Oh well.)
We watched videos from our wedding. It was fun to look back and remember!
Apparently there was some static involved in the watching?
And we ate our special rainbow chip cake, as per tradition.
And here's us through the years, on our anniversary. (I thought there would be more cake pictures. I make it every year, with only a few missed ones because we were out of town).
Year 1: 2010 (had a three month old, so we were tired. I may have even been sick on this anniversary).
Year 2: 2011
Year 3: During a miscarriage and right after Brian came back from Lyndsay Jo's funeral.
Year 4: Pregnant with Rachel
Year 5: Back in Idaho Falls where it started.
Year 6: Back when I had a studio in the basement
Year 7: Saville reunion. I made them recreate this picture from our wedding.
Year 8: Provo City Center Temple (we also like to do Sealings on our anniversary).
Year 9: At the Melting Pot in Salt Lake City
Year 10: At the Mt. Timpanogos Temple
Year 11: Last Anniversary in Fox Hollow
Year 12: Forever more to go!
Since Covid-19 hit, we've spent nearly everyday together, and I still want more days with you by my side. Here's to Team Brian & Devri!
