January 2020 Part 6: Our Mudroom Built-in

Back in December, Brian started work on lockers for our mudroom. Here are his plans:

He was a rockstar for all his work on it! In January, we saw things really start taking shape.

We tried out several stains on remnant pieces before making the final decision on the bench top.
And I brought the bench into the house to stain it.

After Brian got it all together and we got all the holes filled and everything sanded, I got to work painting.
I used spray paint and a mask, but some of the paint particles still made it inside and collected around my nose.

We taped off the bench top, of course.

After letting it dry in the garage for a week, it was time to install it inside.
Here's our mudroom before:

And here's the after:

We had to take out the light in order to get it in, and our friend Koby came over to help Brian lift the top part onto the bench, but we got it in!

It looks so good (as long as you don't look too closely at the top shelves) and we're wondering why it took us so long to do this! Nice job, Brian!!!
