After leaving the ranch house, the kids and I headed up to Pfluggerville to go see Adam and Sarah, and Brian headed to Ben's house to help him with some wiring. Adam helped me bring in the bags and get beds set up and ready for the kids. Then, I went to the airport to pick up Brian since Ben was taking Kirt and Julie to the airport, and it was a half-way place between his house and Adam and Sarah's. We picked up some Torchy's Tacos on the way back.
That weekend was Adam and Sarah's stake conference, and so they were gone Saturday evening at meetings, and we watched their kids, and then we got to talk when they got back. Their kids are the sweetest little people! I was so impressed with them, and I enjoyed the chance to tuck them in that night and learn some new bedtime routines. For example, when I was tucking in Liza, she insisted that I ask her about their best and worst things of the day. Since then, I started asking the kids their best and worst when I pick them up from school. They were a little nervous about not having mom and dad with them, so I sang to them until they fell asleep, and therefore, they are now part of my heart and family, even more so than before.
The next day, we got ready for sacrament meeting. We didn't want to sit make our kids sit through two hours of conference, so we opted to attend another ward in a different stake than Adam and Sarah. We stayed for the entire sacrament meeting, but not for Sunday school and the other meetings. We then went back to Adam & Sarah's house and hung out until they got back. We loved having a nice, kid-friendly place to relax and recover.
Gabe and I took another selfie together
and then had fun with some filter things.I persuaded Adam and Sarah to let me do an impromptu photo shoot with their youngest.
We had dinner together, played games, put the kids in bed, played more games, and finally decided to go to bed a little after midnight.
What were we thinking? We have 6 kids between the four of us!!
It was fun staying two nights with our friends. We had to take some pictures of Liza and Michael together...for their wedding slideshow. Right, Sarah?
And some of the whole crew.On Monday, we packed up and headed out on our next adventure. Thank you, Adam and Sarah, for being such excellent hosts!!!
