Midway Ice Castles

The next day, we went to check out the Midway Ice Castles, something from my visit-local-stuff bucket list. We went on the last day they were operating, and it was a warm, sunny day. We timed it perfectly!

The only thing we would do differently is have the kids where snow pants. They built all these little slides in the castle, but since we didn't want the kids to be wet and cold, we only let them ride on this one, which was the biggest one and it looked really cool.

If we go again next year, I'm totally riding this one. I just didn't feel good about it this year because of my hip. It looked so fun though.
We took turns packing Gabe around. He LOVED being in the backpack. We could feel him kicking his legs and just laughing sporadically through the whole thing.
Rachel was really excited to meet Anna and Elsa outside of the castle.

They were so sweet with her.

Brian said that he'd be up for making this a winter tradition, which I think lets you know just how cool this thing was to see. So, stay tuned to see if we make it out next year.
