Michael's First Day of Kindergarten

This guy waited all summer for August 26 to arrive. He was beyond ready. I thought I was too, but the closer that day got, the more I wasn't so sure. What happened to my baby? How is he big enough to take on the world and Kindergarten?

He was up and ready before we even made it out of bed--he was just a little bit excited. I took him down to the studio to do a quick Back to School/First Day of Kindergarten photo shoot:

And then we all walked him up to school (Rachel, Brian, and me). It took us a little longer to get up there than we thought, and they were already lining up to head inside the classroom. We took a quick picture:
and then sent him into the kindergarten yard to line up with his class. We watched him head in, and I forced myself to put a big grin on my face, even though tears were starting to leak. He never even looked back.

I had a doctor appointment with a hip specialist, so I booked it to Murray right after. Brian worked from home so that he could be there to pick Michael up. Michael said that he was disappointed that there wasn't a snack and that his favorite part of school was recess. So far, I think he's loving it, despite not wanting to go sometimes. We're so proud of our boy, and we hope he always has a strong sense of curiosity and thirst for knowledge.
