August Part 1: Music Dance Theater Camp with Ballet West and the Ruth

As mentioned in our July post, Rachel had three dance camps right after coming back from Europe. Two were to make up for her studio's intensive, which she missed in June, and the last one was her favorite camp, the two-week music-dance-theater camp with Ballet West and The Ruth (formerly Hale Center Theater Orem). She loved seeing friends from last year, making new friends, and just having fun doing some of her favorite things. The camp started in July and ended in August. The camp culminated in a performance on one of the new stages at the Ruth on the set of "The Play that Goes Wrong."

Rachel got to be a soloist in "You Can't Stop the Beat" as Tracy (definitely not typecast) for the theatrical intro to the song, as well as Tracy's first lines (they split up roles so lots of kids get a solo).

Nana and Papa were able to come watch her, as well as her ever-devoted brothers (they may be upset that they have to go, but they always make a big deal of her once they're there).

There may have been some silliness in the halls.

And then ice cream afterwards at Cold Stone!
This girl works so hard, and we're so proud of her!
