May 2025 Part 2: The Magic of an Ordinary Sunday

Chelsea reached out to me on the first Saturday in May to tell me that Matthew had changed his mind about wanting to send out graduation announcements and asked if there was anyway that I could take some photos and help put together an announcement for him. She came down with her kids the next day, arriving about the time we finished with Church, and we all headed to Highland Glen Park so I could take his photos. We had a lot of fun when I first started. 

I like to think we had fun after it was just Matthew in the photos, but you'd have to ask Matthew. I tried really hard to just take only what we needed, focusing on quality, not quantity, while still giving him variety and outfit changes. I think he and Chelsea were happy with the photos. Here are two of my favorites:

Sarah wanted a nice one too, but instead, she got this silly one. Siblings, right?

While Matthew, Chelsea, and I were wandering around taking pictures, the others fed peas to the ducks. 

And Rachel and Gabe couldn't resist getting into the water a little bit. 

Much to Michael and Matthew's shared relief, we finally finished up, and we all headed home, but not before I got a selfie with my awesome nephew (how is he graduating already?!)

I did quick work of editing the photos, had Matthew and Chelsea pick their favorites, and then we designed a card on Walgreens' website, and ordered them all by 3 p.m. when Chelsea had to leave. They were ready for pick up by the time she got back to Ogden (where we'd had them printed.) I think this was my fasted turnover for a senior session ever! 

After Chelsea left, we did some relaxing

and then played SmallWorld. There were periods of tiredness, frustrations, joy, and annoyance. What were we to do? 

The answer came in the form of a rainstorm. I pushed everyone out the door and we frolicked in the rain. 

We eventually came back in and resumed the game, making sure we had good snacks. 

I don't remember who won the game (I'm pretty sure it wasn't me), but we had quite the extraordinary Sunday.
