March Part 2: Dates

Our kids know that Friday is date night. They look forward to it because they have free reign on screens while we're gone, and we look forward to it because--I mean do I really need to explain? They always beg us to leave for dates, and in March, we were really lucky to go on a few with other people that we don't normally double with like Lea and Shayne!

We got dinner at Zao, and then went bowling at Fat Cats. It came together last minute, and it was SO nice to hang with them. We really need to be better at doing things with them--we're just both always so busy! I'm so grateful that the stars aligned for us to go out together.

I was really struggling with bowling. This was one activity that has triggered my SVT heart arrhythmia in the past, so I was trying to take it easy, especially as the two games progressed. I even pulled out the ramp for the toddlers. I still got a gutter ball with it! (In my defense, this particular one was slightly broken and bounced the bowling ball into a strange trajectory when the ball hit the end of the ramp.

We hit up the arcade for a few games after bowling. This Twister one was really fun, though I still submit when the game gets bored it will switch to Impossible mode on a whim.

Lea rocks these musical rhythm games.

We also got to go on a big group date with my girlfriends and their husbands and significant other (who we finally got to meet!) for Scooby's birthday. We had Chinese food and then got dessert. I got Brian to take a picture of me with my favorite ladies. I promise the guys were there too.

Towards the end of March, Jen invited me out since she needed to get out. We went to a taco place and chatted for a few hours (and I stupidly locked my keys in the car as soon as I got there so Brian had to come and rescue me. Good thing the restaurant was close to our house.)

I'm so grateful for my friends and family who are basically friends too. We need to do more of this stuff again soon--maybe when school gets out.
