I wish we had shown the view from just above our house in Branson since we had a beautiful vista of the lake. On July 7th, we went to Table Rock Lake.
Rachel showing us how to act properly on a boat.
Gabe living the good life.
Rachel, Lara, and Elise. Lara only looks bored because the other girls wanted to go pretty slow, so she's actually very bored.
Until she started to do tricks.
Gabe, Alaina, and Julia took a ride after that.
It only looks like Gabe is holding on for dear life, he's actually completely in control of the situation.
Devri and I wanted to take a ride together, so we did.
Boat snacks!
We went out with Lea, Lara, and Greg and a smattering of kids from the families.
Enjoying the shade on the boat.
Some people on a tube.
As they day went on they got more and more adventurous. At least it looks like it.
At some point in the day, Lara and Devri both got headaches and left, and then Mom and Dad joined us. Dad took his turn at the wheel and immediately the kids started falling off faster. We still don't know why.
In the car ride back, and that concludes the 8th. Not pictured: me going on the tube and doing really well (I eventually just let go, but never felt like I couldn't hold on anymore, that was a first for me, who knew working out actually makes you stronger!?), but injuring my knee in the process. It's finally feeling a lot better as I write this about 4 months later. Also not pictured: how warm the lake was - as in bathwater warm. I'm not exaggerating when I say that we all questioned if it was actually refreshing for us or not. But still, it was a lot of fun and we were pretty exhausted.
For the next phase of the Saville reunion, we bought two day tickets to Silver Dollar City (theme park) and Whitewater (waterpark). We could hop between the parks, but to start off we decided to spend the 103 degrees (+900% humidity) weather on July 8th at a waterpark, so Whitewater it was!
Look at that beautiful, pleasant shade! Just kidding, it didn't actually change the temperature or anything for you in the shade. But Lara looks happy here, so it was probably the beginning of the day. Not that she was unhappy later, but hopefully you understand what it means to be a parent of 3 busy kids at a waterpark.
Gabe somehow got this scratch on his back, probably from being chased by an alligator. Or a waterslide. But not from being chased by a waterslide, that's ridiculous.
At the Whitewater sign on the way out! This looks like the picture was easy to get. It was not, since we were hot and tired and all that.
Fixed it.
Going out to eat at Steak n' Shake. This is Gabe at the kid's table.
The other side of the kid's table. Michael didn't come with us because he could stay up later than these kids.
After the steak, we got shakes. It seemed like the right thing to do.
My look says "I know something that you don't know", but since I don't remember what, it probably was just me giving a funny face here. At least Devri looks good.
The stairs to the basement in the Game Day Lodge had writing all over the walls of people who had visited in the past with their favorite teams/schools/religion (no joke). Shayne decided that there was a significant lack of BYU and the Utah Jazz on the walls, and decided to make it right. You can see his handiwork above the door and to the left.
Mom, do I really have to turn this off and go to bed?
Alaina was a riot the entire time. For example...
And that concludes our day on the 8th. A few had discussed hopping over to Silver Dollar City after Whitewater (or even leaving the water park early), but everyone was so exhausted that we didn't even consider it at the end of the day. However, we all regretted it the next day.
If that wasn't enough of a cliff hanger, how about this: 30 people went to Whitewater. You'll never guess what happened next...
