On June 15, the day after we got back, we decided that we should go see the new Incredibles. It was pretty awesome, and Jack-Jack reminded us so much of Gabe, and we were able to laugh off some of the stress from our trip, thanks to this movie!
Elsa crossed 100000 miles, and we decided it was time to trade her for a new one. We tried selling her first, but had no luck. Still, it gave us a chance to take a few pictures of our beloved Mazda. We finally got around to getting a new lawnmower instead of paying our neighbor to mow for us. This time, we got a self-propelled mower, and we love it! We love that Michael can even mow with it.
The boys out mowing:
It felt so great to be back home!
On Sunday, the 17th, we celebrated Brian for Fathers' Day.
The kids and I made this bouquet using their handprints.
Sweet Gabe took a nap before church.
After church, we headed to Mapleton to spend the evening with Brian's folks. It was nice getting into a routine again. We had to create a new one since this was the first normal week of summer that we had. We did Family Home Evening again. Our kids' favorite part is either the treat or the activity.
Gabe tried on my shoes.
And we tried out Kiwi Crates:
And we did something really, really out of character. We bought a minivan. After our trip to Texas, we decided that our car was really just not working for us anymore. We took the kids to a dealer to pick out a new car, and we made the mistake of trying out a minivan first. The kids loved it. There was joy and bliss. Then, we test drove a Highlander. There was immediate fighting and gnashing of teeth. We decided that it was time to bite the bullet and become a minivan family. We traded in Elsa
And after pitting a few dealerships against each other, we settled on a silver Toyota Sienna with all-wheel-drive, a must for consistent visitors to Idaho.
Adobe had their annual field trip day, and the kids loved exploring the many booths.
The last Sunday of the month meant getting ready for church,
Michael got to be one of the guest conductors during the children's march.
After he was done, he ran to join the children's parade.
We shared love.
I tried to build my business. And I tried to establish a good routine that kept the kids' brains working all summer. It didn't really last, but they did practice writing by starting a journal.
We bought a bubble machine and had fun with it in the yard.
We played board games.
We went to the library and happened upon a special event called a musical petting zoo where the kids got to try several instruments.
Brian was back to his role as a couch/climbing gym.
On the 30th, we went to watch the Lehi Roundup parade. We picked up Danny on the way
and met a princess or two while we waited in line for donuts at the Lehi Bakery.
The people running the parade by our spot decided there were too many gaps in the parade, and they had most of the exhibits run past us.
We came to see Lea and Shayne's ward float since they were in charge of it. We were sad when they started running past us!
What we saw looked amazing Lea and Shayne! Great job!
Then, all at once, it was July!!
