The Everyday April 2018

In between our Idaho trip, my D.C. trip, birthday tea and parties, and a play, we had a great April.
Nana and Papa came for a visit, and Papa read books to the kids, which they love so much!

Michael had his piano recital, and he did a really good job, even if this picture makes it seem like he was really awkward.

We read books:

And took pictures of ourselves in our jammies, just so everyone would know that we don't ALWAYS look fabulous!

Julie couldn't go to The Little Mermaid at Hale Center Theater in Orem, so Papa took Rachel in her place, and Rachel was over the moon about the whole thing. We took her down to the theater to meet him, and he brought her home afterwards.

Thanks, Papa! She loved it SO much!!!

We served each other. One day, Michael even made Brian and my bed. He even included a sweet drawing as a gift.
This now sits on the shelf above our dresser.

Michael got accepted into the Advanced Learning Lab (A.L.L.), and so we fasted and prayed with him about whether or not he should do the program. I met his teacher and attended an open house for the program in April. He decided to accept his invitation, and we switched schools for the 2018-2019 school year.

We took pictures of us all dressed up so that we could remember that we often look rather fabulous!

Rachel got her dance costume, and she was just a little bit excited about it.
It also snowed in April. Classic Utah.

Some of us hugged in baskets.
And, well, there was some of this happening:
Gabe likes hats. He found this one at Nana and Papa's house.

While we were visiting Nana and Papa, we went to their fishy park.

I just love these two!

On earth day, we planted some lilac bushes.

Spoiler alert: I helped plant them, so I don't think they're going to make it. It's certainly not looking good out there as of November.

We ate stuff.

The kids started taking swimming lessons in preparation for going to Texas in June.

Gabe climbed into the area under our deck, the area we thought we had childproofed...Maybe we normal childproofed it, but Gabe found a way to climb down under there.

We started the new growing season with hope and enthusiasm. I dug out some grass and created a bed for raspberries. They all died.
Our trees out front always have their best colors on in April, and so Gabe and I had to take a selfie next to them.

Michael played soccer again. He keeps getting better and better!

We made another trip to the Thanksgiving Point Gardens to catch the last of the Tulip Festival. Naturally, the only pictures we took were of the fish.
And the kids in these giant clogs.

 And the paper cranes.

But no tulips. Go us. They were beautiful, though. Next year, maybe we'll make it there a little earlier in the season.

Before we knew what had hit us, April was over and we were staring into a very busy May!
