Gabe's Birthday

In April, Gabe turned 2. We can hardly believe it! In keeping with tradition, I threw him a mommy and me birthday party.

We had a balloon dance party.
Little gift bags for everyone with dinosaurs, play doh, and bubbles.

We had cupcakes with dinosaurs on them.

 Oh his face!

The night before his birthday, I snuck in to take one final picture of my final one-year-old:
The next morning, we had a two year-old! We let him open one present before Church because

It was socks! He loved socks so much back then. He'd run into his room and get socks all the time.

After church, we had a party with Cal & Cass, and Ethan, who we had just discovered, looked just like Gabe! We had to invite him to his mini-me's party. These two uncles tossed the birthday boy around a little.

He, of course, loved every second.

Gabe opened presents.

Brian and I made this cake together, inspired by a much more complicated cake on the Netflix series "Nailed It." Brian has a talent for cake decorating. He did the amazing greenery that I had no patience for. I did the waterfall and the lava on top. And in typical Devri fashion, we're using props.
It's gonna blow!!!
 Gabe liked his cake.

After dinner and cake, there was MarioKart...I think.
 Ethan with his Mini-me.
Cassidy's birthday is the day before Gabe's, so here are the birthday peeps:
 And hugs to Uncle Cal.
Here's Gabe enjoying his present from Grandma and Grandpa the next day.
What to say about Gabe? Have you ever seen Disney's Lilo and Stitch? Gabe reminds us so much of Stitch. There's a part in the movie where Lilo goes up to Stitch and shows him a drawing of himself that serves as a graph for his badness level, saying, "It's unusually high for someone your size." When Gabe gets into his mischief, we think about Stitch and his levels and think, "Your mischief level is unusually high for someone your size." Gabe is our Stitch.
His favorite song is "Hey Jude." He loves doggies and Rachel, Michael, Daddy and Mommy. He calls all his grandparents "Gampa," and he loves all four of them so much! He is a busy busy little man! He keeps all of us on our toes; we constantly shift between laughing and pulling our hair out over the things he does. He is all boy, but he also enjoys putting on Rachel's shiny dress-ups. He loves jumping on the tramp and kicking the soccer ball around with Michael. Life would not be the same without this little bear in our lives.
