On January 10, Brian and I celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary by participating a sealing session at the Mt. Timpanogos Temple.
And we got brunch afterwards at The Original Pancake House.
Our anniversary fell on a Tuesday, which is one of our busiest nights once school is out, so we happily took advantage of all kids being in school for the day to do this lunch date.
After dinner, we still had our traditional cake together, which our kids loved, of course.
On Friday, we went out to dinner and a show. We splurged by going to the Tuscany up in Salt Lake County. They had free valet parking and decorated our table with rose petals and gave us an anniversary card.
The food was delicious too.
Their menus light up when you open them.
Bonus for us: the women's bathroom had these creepy half mural cherubs hanging up!
The gave us a complimentary melting cake to celebrate.
The atmosphere was quiet and cozy, the food was great, and the staff treated us like royalty.
After dinner, we headed to our first show at the Desert Star Playhouse in Murray. We took full advantage of their photo ops spots in the lobby.
The show was a spoof of Indiana Jones called Indiana Bones. We laughed and laughed throughout the whole thing. We will definitely need to come back!
Brian got these ruby earrings for me, and I absolutely love them.
I bought him a Lord of the Rings inspired silicon ring from Enso Rings. I've had an Enzo ring for years and wear it when I work on projects, go swimming, or have surgery/MRIs because I don't have to remove it. I've been wanting to get Brian an Enzo ring as well for quite some time. His actual wedding ring is made of Tungsten, and I've heard that if he ever breaks his ring finger, he will need to remove his ring right away before it swells, or he'll lose his finger because they will be unable to cut the ring off. Since we're always working on projects, I wanted him to have a more forgiving ring should the worst happen to his finger. He was a little skeptical/hesitant to wear it, but he gave it a go and he really likes the ring (I think the Lord of the Rings theming helped out--thanks Chelsea and Ethan for helping me decide on the style), and he wears it a lot now. We still love our original wedding rings, don't worry.
I still am crazy head-over-heels in love with Brian. Who knew that getting older would only make him more attractive? I'm so grateful to be his wife. He always makes me want to be better, and he believes in me even when I don't believe in myself. I feel incredibly blessed and I stand in awe of the miracle of us getting together. Each year, I love him more. Thank you for making my life so rich, my dear best friend.
