Rachel's tap class got invited to perform in "A Very Jazzy Nutcracker" which was the Nutcracker reimagined with tap dancing and actual jazz music. We had no idea what we were in for during this performance. Tickets were kind of pricey, so we didn't tell many people about it, and we kind of wish we had! It was so fun! Here's our dancer, dressed and ready to go backstage.
It really was just so much fun to watch!
At one point, a dancer dressed in a blow-up dinosaur costume came out and was dancing, and it was hysterical to watch!
Here's Rachel's group. I think they were snowflakes?
They got a professional dancer from New York to come be the Nutcracker. He was amazing!
On our way out we ran into the Nutcracker, and he was gracious enough to pose for a picture with Rachel.
We got Papa to take our picture with the amazing Christmas lights outside the theater.
We stayed busy throughout the month with Garage Week for Brian at work, dance, school, and lots of Christmas projects. Gracie continued being my shadow, even following me into the mudroom and hanging out right next to the door while I used the facilities.
Skyler turned 11, and we had a little birthday party for him and Lea, but mostly Skyler. There was lots of yummy pork and family.
Rachel and Gabe can never get enough of Skyler.
We were grateful to get lots of snow over the course of December, even if that meant sometimes being covered in it from a brief jaunt outside.
Rachel had Christmas demos for her classes in mid-December. Here she is showing us her ballet skills.
We got to watch her in jazz as well. They didn't do a tap demo or a ballroom demo this time.
I love watching her brothers swarm her after a performance. Their support means so much to her.
I love when these kids get along!
