May 2024 Part 9: The Daily and In-Between

In between all the games, programs, dance recitals, temple trip, and a very special baptism, we had lots of other things happening as well.

Celebrated Jen's graduation from UVU!!!! She's been working so hard for years!

I didn't make it to her graduation, but I was able to attend her celebration at her house afterwards, and got to see Scooby and Serene there as well. Congratulations, Jen!!!
We threw a Cinco De Mayo break-the-fast after church for our ward (Me, Bekah--my lone committee member--and Brian). It was a success! The food was nachos and included lettuce and tomatoes for added (or some might argue actual) nutrition.
We went to go see Escape from Germany with the kids. This movie is about how our church got all the missionaries out of Germany prior to the start of World War II. It was pretty good.
There was plenty of doodling going on.
I spent a lot of time getting ready for our epic Florida trip at the end of May and beginning of June. We ordered snorkeling masks and fins for our Caribbean cruise.

Not pictured: Countless hours planning and Amazon shopping to get things ready.

I went on lots of walks (had to prepare for Disney World!), and I found this beautiful path nearby. I do love where we live. I logged around 3 miles most mornings in May which is a huge accomplishment! A year before this, I was recovering from my second heart ablation and couldn't even walk 1/3 a mile without being completely light headed and out of energy for the rest of the day!
Gabe and Rachel participated in the color bash at school, which I think was really fun for them. They sure look like they had a good time.

Brian captured this rare snuggle moment with Michael. He is such a sweet boy, but sometimes it is tricky catching a sighting of him each day!
School continued, as did carpools. Here's Michael waiting for his ride.

Our new retaining walls were completed and we got mulch in them.

Rachel gave a presentation on California.
Mrs. Tenney retired at the end of the school year, and we are so sad. She has been a life saver for our family with Michael. She went above and beyond with him, and we will sing her praises forever!
I texted Michael that she was retiring, and so he stopped by to say hi after school.

We missed a Pretty Good Yard Sale, but we were quite busy and something had to go.
We loved having some warm weather again, and took some time to enjoy it.
We had dinner with the Parkers and enjoyed a walk around their neighborhood afterwards.

Brian and I got pedicures in preparation for our trip.
The school had their dance festival.
Here's Gabe with Mrs. Jacobs, his 2nd grade teacher.
Brian got his cast off.

Michael gave Gracie a bath in preparation for her stay with friends while we went to Florida, and her eyes got super irritated. We tried rinsing them some more at Michael and Kristina's house (they were kind enough to help watch her for part of our trip). Poor girl! We joked that it's a good thing Michael is an ophthalmologist, even though dog's eyes are totally different than human ones. (Don't worry, her eyes got healed).

With Gracie dropped off at Michael and Kristina's house, school basically wrapped up, and our bags packed, it was time to spend the rest of our May in Florida!
