We finished off our cruise (and our 2024 Epic Florida Trip) with two sea days. Brian and Ben took advantage of the gym, Jenny took advantage of the walking track, the kids took advantage of the fun activities and free ice cream, and I took advantage of not having to worry about much of anything!
We did some mini golf together, which was fun.
And Rachel must have done more mini-golf later with Tucker.
Here, Rachel is the ball
And Tucker got the "ball" into the hole! (Ben took a video of this, and apparently Rachel really did roll over to be in the hole.)
We took advantage of a free visit to one of the specialty places for lunch, Chibang. This was a Chinese/Mexican restaurant. It was pretty good.
The kids had so much fun in the pool.
And of course, we always loved seeing what pool animals our house-keeping person left us.
More dinners and more shenanigans from these three.
We started getting more adventurous with our meals. I think Jenny ordered the strawberry chilled soup.
I laughed because I got this same thing on our Mexican Riviera cruise and they brought me the same thing. I knew that more was coming this time, and laughed at Jenny's confusion.
Rachel went with Brian, Ben, Jenny, and probably Tucker to see a comedy show, and Rachel got her picture with the comic.
And a hug.
The next day--our last day together, Brian and Ben hit up the gym.
I did some more reading on the lido deck.
At one point, Brian, Ben, and Jenny joined me.
We got more rain, but it was still fantastic.
Here's the love of my life and my favorite cruising partner.
In case you didn't know, I don't really like ice. It makes things too cold. And somehow, at dinner, I kept getting most of the ice in my glass, and I had to take action. Ben thought it was funny that I was scooping out my ice and putting it on this extra plate.
Gabe always ordered all on his own first thing, and by the last night, Moises (our server) loved getting Gabe whatever he requested, including extra desserts.
We thought it perfect that we saw a rainbow on our last night.
We had such a blast cruising with Ben and Jenny. We went to the Newlywed Game, Family Feud, multiple comedy shows, two of the broadway style shows (and Jenny went twice to the Color My World one and took Rachel the second time. The Color My World was my favorite show.) Brian really loved being able to spend so much time with Ben, and Rachel loved getting to know Tucker better.
The next morning, we were super sad to leave the cruise, but we were all ready to go home.
We took a shuttle to the Ft. Lauderdale Airport, where we found out that flight got delayed a bit. Finally, we were on our way to Dallas, where we had another delayed flight home.
While in the airport, I frantically tried to get a flyer for our upcoming ward activity to it could start being circulated at church back home.
And Rachel threw up due to motion sickness/a migraine. We did meet some really kind people while we waited for our flight home. Finally, we were on our final flight home.
Then, we were back in Salt Lake.
I'm 99% sure that Lea picked us up. We had such an amazing time with our Saville family, but we were so ready to be home.
And now, our final notes written on our last day of the cruise:
What will you miss the most from the cruise?
Tyler: Food
Michael: ice cream and food
Rachel: ice cream
Tucker: ultimate playground & food
Gabe: cousins
Jenny: food—being served everyday, having dinner with family
Ben: not having internet and just being able to lay out at the pool without having to worry about anything, hanging out with the Utah Savilles
Devri: having no guilt about doing nothing
Brian: relaxing with family
