April 2021 Part 5: Animal Kingdom with Friends

Our friends' arrival was a much needed boost for us. We were halfway through our trip, and we were getting tired and a little irritable. The arrived in Orlando and energized us. However, they were more energized than us and they made it to their first park day before us. We told them not to wait for us. They only had four days and they needed to make every minute count. We weren't too far behind them though. They were in line for the Avatar ride, Flight of Passage in Pandora, so we went and hopped in the line too.

And saw a parade in the water.

It was so fun being with our friends!

We needed to utilize the rider swap more, since Haven and Hunter couldn't ride some of the rides. Hunter still wasn't too sure about me, but he didn't fuss too much when I carried him around and rode some rides with him.

I took him on the Dinosaur ride. He loved it.

Meanwhile, Rachel and Elsie were living their best lives.

We wanted Serene and Dustin to have an awesome time, so we tried to take Hunter a lot so they could ride with their other kids together.

There weren't a ton of kid rides in Animal Kingdom, so we rode Dinosaur a lot.

Everyone loved Expedition Everest.

Michael was still a little over waiting in line, so when everyone rode Dinosaur, he hung out with Hunter and I.

And we saw kangaroos. They are pretty cool creatures.

We also saw a vulture.

And lemurs. And maybe some monkeys.

Hunter fell asleep in the stroller during our walking around.
Meanwhile, the rest of the crew was riding Dinosaur.

And we saw another floating parade.

We got in line for Kali Rapids, and the kids had fun exploring things while we waited.

Meanwhile, Brian and Dustin took Hunter to go see the It's Tough to Be a Bug show. They said it was hilarious.

Haven was a little nervous about the rapids.

I think she liked it though. Haven was 1/4 inch too short for some of the rides. These rice crispy treats came in handy in more ways than one.

We got to see the tigers again.

And ducks.

And so many cool animals.

We went on the Kilimanjaro Safari.

We explored exotic places in Asia and Africa.

And rode Expedition Everest as many times as we could.

At the end of the night, we only had time for one more ride. We wanted to do Flight of Passage from Avatar again, but we didn't have time to ride it and do the rider swap. Dustin and Serene ended up talking to an attendant and told them their dilemma. The attendant gave Dustin a fast pass to go and ride it right away, gave a rider swap for Serene to be able to go after Dustin was done, AND they gave Serene a fast pass to go ride the Pandora boat ride (can't remember what it is called) so she had something to do while she and the kids waited for Dustin. Disney really shines with their guest services. So, while Dustin and Serene worked their fast passes, Gabe, Brian, and I waited in line. (We'd sent Rachel to hang with Dustin and Elsie and the big boys were off on their own).

The line was pretty cool. I'd ridden with the rider swap the last time I rode it, so I didn't get to see the cool queue.

Pandora at night is really magical, and I don't even love the movie Avatar!

We had another amazing day at Animal Kingdom, and we especially loved spending it with our good friends.
