June 2023 Part 3: Our Garage Workshop

If we don't have some kind of home improvement project going on at our house, can we really call ourselves Savillians?

In June, we decided to paint the walls of our third car garage. We considered painting the entire thing, but decided in the end to just focus on the third car garage since that's the workshop. Everyone willingly pitched in. We made everyone help. There may have been bribes involved. It was a lot of work, mostly on the ceilings, which were pretty high.
While we were at it, we painted these shelves too.

The ceiling was the most painful, and after getting a solid layer of primer on it, we decided that it was the garage and primer on the ceiling was good enough, but we did paint the walls. It looks white, but it was supposed to be a light gray. The gray was much lighter than anticipated. I can't believe the difference a little paint made!
Brian finally decided on a stain/finish for his workbench, and happily got it stained and finished. We really like how it turned out.

We did paint this section of wall in the 2nd car garage so that we could hang our camp chairs up and not have to worry about this part later.

With the workshop garage all painted, Brian needed to figure out how to arrange all his stuff. Graph paper and scissors led to a mini moveable workshop where he could try out multiple arrangements.

This will always be a work in progress, but here it is (as of June 2023).
Clamp Storage!
Brian mounted his shop vacuum system on the wall.

Bikes on the wall!
This is my favorite part. I love good, pretty organized spaces.
