Most of life is lived in the boring, day to day things. Here's some snap shots of the more exciting daily living in September:
The Phantom Jedi made an appearance. (I don't even remember who this is.)
Mornings continued to not be our favorite thing. My sweet next door neighbor brought us this gift basket as a get well following my surgery. I love that she sent fruit!
Serene and Dustin continued watching out for us, including being willing to have date-night at our house. They brought us pie from Crust Club the Friday after I had my ablation.
Brian and I tag-teamed hair cuts. He did most of the cutting, and I just did the blending.
Our little garden grew, even though I mostly neglected it. I'm not sure why we took this picture, but it's a view of our yard that we don't usually see.
And Dustin and Serene came back again for a swim day with their kids. We grilled some burgers afterwards.
We even had some corn on the cob from our garden.
We didn't get very much, and the cobs were tiny, but it was SO good!!!!!
We all looked forward to our screen time allotment each day.
In between running kids to all their things, Brian and I decided to have a mini-weeknight-date and stopped at the local orchard's stand for a fresh peach shake. It was so good!
Somehow though, they heard "Ben" when Brian said his name was Brian. We thought this was pretty funny since Brian has been called Ben a lot, but only by people who actually know his brother Ben and him. This was a total stranger calling him Ben.
Once, Gracie couldn't even wait for us to get out of the car before she greeted us. Either that or we took her for a drive. Regardless, Gracie usually likes to go in the car with us.
My sweet young women came over to hang out with Michael one night. A few days after surgery, Riley and Emery brought me a get-well bag with a face mask and nail polish, so when Riley was visiting that night, she offered to help me apply the face mask she got me.
She also painted my nails. These girls are so great, and I love serving them at church, and I love that they're friends with Michael.
Kirt and Julie invited us over for dinner one Sunday a week or two after surgery to help us out. They made me sit on the couch while they did all the work. I'm so grateful for how well they take care of me.
I took Gracie to the vet for a routine check-up and an updated rabies vaccine. She curled right up on Brian's gym bag.
And then hid under the chair after the veterinary assistant examined her. She was so distraught she pooped on the examination table! Poor thing!
We had barbeque, and Rachel got some on her nose.
And so did Gabe, which is more the rule than the exception.
Rachel tagged along to her brother's soccer games and football games, and she often sought the shade wherever she could get it, even if it was under our chairs.
We went to Lea's one Sunday to celebrate Hunter's birthday. The boys found something incredibly amusing on Danny's phone.
I came upstairs one day to see this in the office. Just a typical day here in our house.
I started designing my own planner, and I had so much fun doing it!
Gracie liked spending time each day surveying her kingdom.
And she hated when it was time for a bath.
We decided it was time to say goodbye to these friends. Can you believe our kids are too big for these now? I can't!
As I mentioned in a past post, first grade was an adjustment for Gabe, so I tried to give him extra love and attention. One day, that meant building a castle with him.
We enjoyed some beautiful sunsets.
And, we ended the month celebrating Grammy Bobby's birthday with a picture to send her way.
And all too soon, September was over, but not before we started some serious Halloween Prep.
