March 2019 Part 3: Michael's School Play

Michael's class put on a play in March. I learned this was a huge deal, especially to Michael's teacher. It was just his class doing it, and Michael ended up with one of the main parts.
The play was called "Everyday Heroes" and talked about how we can be heroes by being kind. I went in with very low expectations when he put it on for his school, and I left quite impressed by the whole thing. His teacher not only had speaking parts for each student, but each also had a solo singing part.
His teacher asked me if I would take pictures of the play, so I did that when they performed for the rest of their school. I was focused mostly on getting good shots and trying to capture each student for his or her solos. At one point, someone was singing, and I thought, "Wow, that kid has a nice voice." And then, through my lens, I realized that it was Michael. I had no idea he could sing like that. He's so shy about singing!

Don't worry, I left the camera at home for his evening parent's performance so I could just enjoy it, taking pictures with my cell phone at the end like a normal parent.

I was so proud of him.
My parents came to watch him perform, and we loved having them the next day. Rachel took advantage of someone willing to read to her:

We were doubly blessed with this play. We got to see my parents, but mostly, we got to see Michael step out of his comfort zone and really rock it up on that stage!
