When Michael is at school, I usually try to take full advantage of only having one kid around. This usually means lots of errands. Rachel is a champ though. It's amazing how much easier it is to go grocery shopping with just Rachel!
But, we also hang out at home. We've gone on at least one run with just the two of us. She's usually game for whatever. So, when my Relief Society President posted that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was looking for extras for an upcoming film they're working on, I jumped at the opportunity to audition. I needed a headshot and a profile picture. They said that a cell phone picture was adequate, so I rushed outside to take a couple. (It's been a silly dream of mine to be in a Church video. I know, I know.) After looking at the pictures I took, I thought, "What am I thinking? I have a studio downstairs!" This is the only picture I really like from that cell phone shoot:
So, down Rachel and I went for a self-portrait photo shoot, which is a lot harder than you might think. But, I got a few good ones and sent them off, as well as some fun shots of Rachel, because she is at the stage where she likes getting her picture taken.
They never called me for the film, but I'm glad for another excuse to practice and also that I got some fun pictures with my mini-me.
