February 2020 Part 4: The Regency Romance Ball

I try to make Valentine's Day about the kids, and so on actual Valentine's Day, we usually have family dinner. BUT, I also like an excuse to go out with Brian for an extra special date, and this year, the Regency Romance Ball was the day after Valentine's Day--so perfect!!  I was going to make new outfits for us, but I only ended up making a lace overlay for my ballgown, and I made Brian a regency coat using a suit I found at DI. It turned out pretty good, but I should have been a little more careful in cutting it up and patching it back together. Oh well.

We made new friends, and this time actually connected on Social Media before leaving the party. We hung out with the other three couples all night, standing next to each other in all the dances and forming our very own exclusive square for the Quadrille.

We had to do two rounds with the photographer before finding these ones that we liked. We always try to be clever and cute, but panic when we get in front of the camera!

We found out that the people who sponsor this ball also throw other dances throughout the year, including a Revolutionary War themed ball in the spring, a pirate ball around Halloween, the Dicken's Ball in December (which we DID know about), and of course, the Regency Romance Ball. We signed up for the newsletter so that we could go to their other dances as well. It really is so fun!
