Michael started 2nd grade on August 22, 2017, the day after the great Eclipse adventure. We didn't get to meet his teacher, so we just crossed our fingers and hoped for the best. (Her name is Mrs. Balli, and we like her, by the way).
Brian and I walked him up to school, and Gabe and Rachel came along too, of course. He wanted to ride his bike, so we tried to keep up with him.
There was a welcome tunnel for all the kids. We made it right before the first bell, so it had already started thinning out by the time we got there, but there was still balloons, music, and cheers to welcome him back.
Rachel had her first day of school the Wednesday after Labor Day.
This was her second year at the same preschool. so everything was really familiar. Rachel loves preschool. She loves having her chance at things, especially since she's had a front row seat to Michael's adventures all these years.
Her first day of school was also her first day of dance at her new studio. So far, we're really liking the new studio.
And thus started the crazy running around, the schedules, the structures until next summer.
