Moments in June

"Because it's June! June June June!"

If you sit or lay on the floor at our house, you will attract littles to come sit or climb on you!
Brian and I went on a date to the Melting Pot. It was fun and delicious. Do you fondue?

Since we are rarely in downtown Salt Lake City, we decided to go for a walk afterwards. I loved seeing the old buildings. I LOVE skyscrapers and cityscapes, especially old ones. We walked down to City Creek as well.
Lazy mornings:
Post-game swinging:
We met baby Evelyn:
And I took her newborn pictures:
Gabe was here:
 And definitely here:
 And most certainly here:

Concerts in the Park with the Utah Premiere Brass
I helped Hunter make a special satchel for Trek
Gabe discovered climbing--or else he just continued to climb. I can't remember which:
Brian and I started an 8 week health challenge in June. To help, I made freezer cookie dough on one of our free days to help us not eat an entire batch of cookies on our other free days.
I went down the slide for the first time in a while, and Brian thought it was really funny. When you climb up to the top of the playhouse, this is really the only way down. I don't remember why I climbed up there.
 Brothers!
We sure love these kids of ours!
We set up the pool. It had several holes that we patched with duck tape, but the water wouldn't stay in it very well, even with the duck tape. We tossed the pool, but we were able to get this one more great day out of it.
For release night, we grabbed dinner and these dollar store gliders. The kids had a blast with them.

Gabe enjoyed the opportunity to be in the sand box.
 Oh this kid!

 Another Utah Premier Brass Concert:
 Children's march:

Michael conducting during the children's march:
Kirt led with Gabe in his arms. I'm sure his arms were ready to fall off by the end!

 My office mates:
We take our Gabe snuggles whenever we can get them. They are rare and precious these days.
The Adobe Field Trip was on June 16. It was hot, but they had some sweet science experiment projects there. The kids got to make their own bouncy balls and slime.

I hate to say it, but this is a good representation of our house much of the time. Here we have Michael folding his clothes, the bench seats getting upholstered, the vacuum is out, bathroom rugs are drying on the railing, which means we cleaned bathrooms this day. I always say that I'm not a good multi-tasker, but here's proof that I'm always trying to be a good one.

 Gabe at the baseball game:
Yet another concert in the park. I think this one was on Fathers' Day.  I like to think I gave Brian a good Father's Day as well. I did surprise him, which is always happy.
Gabe trying to drink Nana's Diet Coke:
I threw another baby shower in June for my friend Cami, but I didn't take any pictures. Since it was another crafting shower where we made bows/flowers for the baby, I took the opportunity after everyone left and I still had my glue guns out to fix flowers and bows for Rachel that have been hanging out in her drawer for years. . She sported one of them a few days later:

The day after Father's Day, my dad was in Salt Lake for training for his new job. We drove up to get him and then take him with us to get dinner and see Cars 3. He took charge of Gabe right off the bat.
I wish I had a picture of Gabe reclined in his lap during the movie, but that would have disturbed the other audience members.

Lara and Greg were so kind to send Rachel a couple of their Princess towels. I loved how Lara addressed the package:
 Rachel loves her new towels:
Michael won a $10 gift card to Smiths at Splash Days. I told him he had to share with Rachel. The new Smith's Marketplace has a little toy section, so they both picked out a toy. I convinced Rachel to buy a Ken doll, telling her I would make a prince costume for him (since the other toys she wanted to get were junky). Here's what the finished project looks like:
With our health challenge, I decided I wanted to start making our own bread again, so Brian got me a Bosch. I've wanted one for years. We decided to pass on our trusty Kitchenaid to Cal and Cassidy, and Cassidy was pretty excited about it. I'm loving this Bosch!
Watching a baseball game with friends:
 Michael helping empty the dishwasher.
Here's a picture from our tea party. We had fun names. Rachel was Miss Emma and Michael was Lord Leland Hickim (A play off Michael spelled backwards).

I made a few baby loaves of bread, and Brian made some French toast with it one night. Look how tiny!
When I would do back bridges, Gabe would run over excitedly to sit on me. I just figured, "Eh, the extra resistance can't hurt, right?"

One day, the kids all got hair cuts. Rachel came really close to chopping it short, but then changed her mind.
We went on a date for my birthday. We went shopping, because we're lame like that. I kind of wished I'd gotten this hat.
 And then it was July.
